We’ve had so much fun sharing our Flamecraft puzzles with everyone - we hope you’ve enjoyed them too! We have been truly blown away by the response to the Flamecraft puzzles - there's still time to enter for your free Fancy Dragon Miniature! We want to shout out to our puzzle wizard, Richard Malena-Webber for making these wonderful games to play both pre-launch and during the campaign. We have seen so many wonderful moments of people helping each other out on the Kickstarter wall, the Facebook group page and in the Discord in the secret room!
WATER LILY WAY
A grove of green dragons tend to the land, and help hopeless humans when they need a hand.
The story continues. On Saturday, we told you that the plant dragons were coming - well, the first plant dragon has arrived by canal and the alternate PLANT STARTER SHOP is unlocked - look at this beautiful starter shop! We found a new way into town!
Thanks so much for the amazing round of suggestions everyone. We actually think that everyone managed to name EVERY other plant name in the game this time! This has become one of our most memorable and fun parts of this Kickstarter. And we have found the name for our starter plant dragon, Twig! Cheers to Ophexis, Michelle Miville, Esther, Feld Fan, and Kevin posting about Twig in your comments!
Twig lived by a babbling brook with her 12 brothers and sisters. They tended the family gardens and played in the water. Life was good, until one day, the stream stopped streaming. Being the eldest, Twig bounded upstream thinking to give some beavers a talking to, when she saw the true problem. People had diverted the water to feed their crops and were, quite frankly, doing a very poor job. Twig could not let this stand, so she and her siblings snuck out at night to take care of it. They carefully replanted the crops, invigorated the soil and restored the brook to its original bubbly babble. When the villagers awoke and saw the fantastic farmland before them, they celebrated with their new friends. This day is remembered every year in town by beautifying the canals and tying bundles of twigs off the bridges!

SOCIAL GOALS KEEP ON GIVING!
Speaking of Plant dragons and something else that has sprouted up, we had our social goal bonus stream this past Saturday (thanks to growing our Youtube channel at 1000 subscribers!). We also revealed a BONUS GIFT on this stream, because once the idea planted in our heads for more cute dragon merch, we knew we had to do this:
All game pledges now get bookmarks! Starting with a PLANT DRAGON and adding a POTION DRAGON too because everyone helped push our neighbor campaigns farther last week!
So 2 bookmarks! But wait, there's 5 more dragon types!
Indeed, there is. You've been paying attention this whole campaign! And, since we've just unlocked our last seen social goal, the Wishing Well at 21,000 backers (YAY) - it would seem that some new fun social goals are in order.Here's some fun ways to unlock another bookmark! (We'll choose the bookmark after each is unlocked!)
NEXTUP - 22,000 Backers - why stop now, right? We're not done yet. In fact, for every 1000 backers on top of 22,000, we'll count that as bonus push to any other social goal below we don't have done at the very end. That said, we want to push hard to do these four more!
CATS, MICE& CHICKENS- Our designer friends Ta-Te Wu (Sunrise Market) and Don Gilstrap (Backyard Chickens) got a huge push the other day (thank you), but they are still not funded and need more helpful dragon friends! Can we get Backyard Chickens and Sunrise Market to a combined 800 backers?
CBALCHEMY on INSTAGRAM Ok, we're not the best at regular Instagram posts but we want to show production pics and more shops and get a beautiful gallery over there. Won't you join us? Can we find a few more friends to get up to 2000 on IG?
WE ❤️ HUNGRY GAMER !- We owe a lot to our friend Will the Hungry Gamer. He's not only putting out amazing board game content, he's also putting up inspiring videos to see others succeed and he's pushing smaller indie companies forward all the time. He has always believed in our company, and we want to see his channel explode with views. Can we get The Hungry Gamer doubled up with our flamekeeper powers and go for 5000 subs on his channel? I really want to surprise him with an awesome gift from the dragons. (Hi Will!) I asked him all sorts of questions about his favorite videos, without letting on what we were up to - so if you want to watch some good games, check out Hungry Gamer coverage of Court of Miracles or Guild Master - enough views on these vids could also unlock this goal!

When we opened Flamecraft on Kickstarter we hoped folks would come and visit, and we got fired up each time they did. But soon it became clear that because of how enchanting these little dragons are we were all getting fired up, and it’s been amazing to see that happen. As we head into the final couple of days of the campaign this post can be used by new backers as a summary of what we’ve accomplished and a place to post any crucial questions you may have. The campaign may be drawing to a close but Flamecraft is just getting started!

Exploring the City Gates of Flamecraft; Arrivals and Answers!

Hello dear Flamekeepers!
We continue to be enchanted by the Kickstarter results - 1.3million raised and over 18,000 backers strong, with a week to go! Today - the Eternal Flame shop unlocked and more stretch goals have appeared too! We have a meaty update today, full of information and a key video about some key topics. But before we get to the meat, let's talk about the bread:
INTRODUCING... PAN!
In a magical forest sits a cute little shed,where a brave little dragon bakes magical bread.
So many of you suggested fantastic and fun bread names! Thank you all so much! Our basket was quite full with options for the name of our Flamecraft starter bread dragon! As a team, we felt Pan was just right! A special shout out to the backers that suggested and seconded Pan, including Lauren Heintzelman, Eluro, Daniel Stamp, Chris Montgomery and Mark O'Shaughnessy!
What do we know about Pan? Well, know that this little dragon sure does know how to make a grand entrance! Surprise - a bonus stretch goal exclusiveshop is is unlocked RIGHTNOW! This is an alternative starting Bread shop with an advanced start, featuring the arrival of our newly named starter dragon! (Pan will also get a card art close-up, facing us on their artisan dragon card).
Pan loved watching the townsfolk shout, laugh, work and play. It all just seemed so big and exciting to the tiny dragon. All Pan did was sit in their little shed and bake boring bread. Pan’s dragon friends loved the loaves, and visited every day to eat and chat. Pan asked, “Can I learn to make cakes and treats that even people would love?” The dragons thought Pan was flakey, and warned that big people had rules against dragons in town. But Pan was determined to be the very best baker, and so, set out with two loaves in a bundle. One to share with some big new friends, and one to leave a trail behind in case little friends were brave enough to follow.

MEET THE MEAT DRAGON!
This is our next story. But before we can tell it - you guessed it - we need a name! What shall we call the first meat dragon? Our starter chef! Thanks so much for your awesome questions as always flamekeepers!
Comment on this update or on the main page - remember, meat dragons do not only cook meat, they are chefs, and culinary experts! Here is the arrival of perhaps the first one in town! We're headed to the docks next it seems!
CARDBOARD ALCHEMY GUARANTEE
TRANSLATIONS, MATS, SOLO MODE AND MORE!
Let us explain... no there is too much.. let us sum up in VIDEO - and in a nice bullet point list if you prefer!
Covered in this video:
1. We are introducing a Cardboard Alchemy Money Back Guarantee - if you are unsatisfied with your game within 30 days of delivery for any reason, we will return Kickstarter and pledge manager funds spent to you! See the Kickstarter main page for this guarantee, noted near the pledge levels.
2. We discuss the GAME MAT! We have looked at many cloth samples so far, and many neoprene samples, and are still picking the best option that meets our key specs (such as wrinkle-free, thin and lightweight, rolls well and sturdy in box, stitching, softness and other quality features, and keeps vibrant color). We have 12 more neoprene mat samples coming to us, which may or may not arrive by campaign end.
3. We cover the translation of all EXCLUSIVE cards (currently in English only). We make 3 promises on this front: First, we will continue post-Kickstarter in trying our best to find a viable and cost-effective solution in production to translate every card, including our exclusive stretch promo cards. We will not know this answer before KS close, and probably not until into production, when we discuss all printing logistics. Secondly, we promise that if we cannot solve the translation of all cards, we will move the Companion mini cards from Exclusive to "in every copy" so that they will be fully translated in their respective print runs in each country. Third, we promise that all the remaining exclusive content on this campaign will be language independent! This is our way of saying that everyone will get the most amount of KS exclusive content without any language barrier.
4. We talk about solo mode! We are excited to offer this mode - free and without any extra components, that feels like playing the multiplayer experience. We will not have any play videos during the Kickstarter, but we promise to share more and involve the community when we have more development to share on the final version.
THE ETERNAL FLAME
We heard your suggestions in the comments for a candle shop and Sandara had a lovely idea of how to do this shop in a fresh new way. We hope you enjoy the beautiful and peaceful candle room, known as The Eternal Flame! You feel enchanted by the mystic pools here - almost as if you're able to discover any secret magical recipe in town and see yourself gaining reputation!

A quick weekend update! We want to share a few savory items for you to chew on while we continue to flame the heat under this campaign! The docks are just now unlocked at $1,400,000 in funding(!!) and 19,500+ backers! Cheers all!
Come join Peter and Brad from Cardboard Alchemy today at 1pm PDT - streaming on YOUTUBE and in the Flamecraft FACEBOOK Fan Group. We will reveal the bonus item(s) we all unlocked via social goals with the plant dragons at the Bookstore. In addition to this, we'll be showing a bunch of shop art and answering any game or Kickstarter questions.
MEAT HICKORY
On a small desert island, in a cute rocky nook, sits a smoky little dragon that is eager to cook.
Oh my goodness, the wave of meat names! Thank you all so much! You all cooked up amazing options for the name of our Flamecraft starter chef! This was a very, very difficult choice. We almost moved Flambé to the starter slot, but as that dragon is safely set in the main deck, we decided to introduce Hickory! A special shout out to the backers that suggested and seconded Hickory, including Belanna, Amanda Hudson, Profbeard, Kyle Miner and Erin Alldredge!
Hickory ate alone in his cave and watched the people ride the ocean on their floating logs. They caught fish with ease and it made his mouth water thinking of what magic he could create with such a hoard. Just then, a spark struck him! He would make a feast and surely they would bring their bounty to him! Excited, Hickory set up his grill and prepared what food and ingredients he could find. When he saw the distant riders, he ignited his favorite wood and worked his magic. The sweet smoky scent sailed across the water and the people floated near to see what it could be. As Hickory worked, more people arrived and shared their treasures for all to enjoy! In the middle of it all, Hickory cooked and laughed, and danced... and he never ate alone again.

MORE DRAGONS ARRIVING BY WATER!
Our next story is about a PLANT DRAGON and seems to be coming by the canals!But before we can tell this tale - you guessed it - we need a name! What shall we call the first plant dragon? These are our florists, fumigators and veggie farmers! We appreciate your fun idea as always flamekeepers!

LAUNCHED TODAY! Deck building + chickens. It's addictive - I wanted to play again and again immediately (Peter)! The game was designed by father/son team Don & Adrian Gilstrap and contains a unique chicken mood mechanic that really has you balancing your turns in a fun, challenging way.
LAUNCHED YESTERDAY! Our friend Ta-Te Wu has some of the cutest, affordable games on the market and he might just have a Kickstarter record for getting games delivered faster than anyone else. There are 3 awesome games here!
ENDINGSOON! Peter Hayward and Jeff Fraser have made a beautiful looking tile game for 1-4 players. Peter has created 21 Kickstarter projects and very artistic ones at that! The team here looks solid!
In Cartouche, you play an archeologist restoring Hatshepsut's legacy. The twist: in this tile-laying game, the spaces you don't cover are just as important as the ones you do. Each round, you'll draft tiles and arrange them to restore murals, complete stories, and earn points.
ENDING NOW! Ah-ha! So that is where the ancient dragons are at! We've just met these dragon friends recently but they seem like a great team. The most telling thing to us about this dragon game is that when Sandara saw it, she said "oh, they got all the best dragon artists!" :)
