Can you believe it’s been nearly four years(!) since we all brought Flamecraft to life? It has been incredible seeing the community grow and thrive over that time and it’s all because of you, so thank you!
Flamecraft Duals FANCY MODE features new friends, like Precious!
And now it's 4 days left on our latest Flamecraft Kickstarter (say what??) We don't want anyone to miss it! (If you're already there, feel free to shout out in the comments!)
There's 2 parts to the Kickstarter - a brand new game (Flamecraft Duals) AND an expansion you need to know about called... Dragons and Dragons!
We have been busy working with Sandara and Manny again!
This new game features DUAL dragons (Razorclaw is a smithy and a jeweler, while Calzone is a master chef and baker). We decided these fun new dragon mashups needed to come over to the base game - every single possible combo!
This is an expansion box full of, well... loads of dragons! Each dual dragon artisan card has a new power (something a lot of people have always wanted in Flamecraft) so you get adorable new friends AND a ton of gameplay! In addition to the dual dragons, we have packed in a hoard of modules you can mix into your game!

But that is not all..
Not only are we making an expansion, Flamecraft Duals is a puzzly pattern-matching game in a DELUXE travel friendly box that folds out to become the board! (You have to see it, it’s awesome!)
In Flamecraft Duals, you will be drawing artisan dragon tokens from a bag, placing them and firing up their abilities, with the goal of creating the right patterns to score shop cards.
It is a fantastically thinky game, with beautiful and satisfying components. It’s the kind of game you will want to play again and again, just ask all the people in our Discord playing online!
It wouldn’t be a Flamecraft campaign without MERCH!
Every single promo ever released in the last 4 years is included. Plus, new plush - we always said these two would be trouble.. leaves trailing down the back of one, while the other is the biggest dragon in town! But we did it, and we are so happy with how they look.
Also, we love a surprise, the iron dragon comes with its own backpack, and it’s not empty… What could it be?

We're writing a special update to tell you a bit of timely news on our latest project and more on Flamecraft goodies for the holidays!
We have been busy working with Sandara again on a new project, Critter Kitchen! We wanted to share with you all in case it has slipped under your radar! We are in the last hours in our Critter Kitchen campaign! Sandara has drawn a whole world of critters, all adorable and incredible! We have added so many glorious goodies, unlocked a very long tableful of stretch goals and it’s truly one of our most ambitious games yet! The deluxe is really quite something to behold, and the game has lots of modes for any level of play desired. We unlocked solo recently, and the expansion is free! 1-7 chefs can play Critter Kitchen!

In honor of Flamecraft finding so many new flamekeepers, we are coordinating with Lucky Duck Games to offer a new deluxe items! We hear daily that the deluxe pieces are desired and while we wait for the next artisan dragon adventure, we wanted to offer a "series 2" set of items while keeping the original Kickstarter goodies special for everyone here! Sandara designed new coins and dragons, and Erick Tosco modeled these once again, creating a magical set!

The iron dragons have been crafting a beautiful set of coins for you! Each one features a different dragon type from the game and, on the other side, the new Flamecraft crest.Included is a commemorative fancy coin and a fiery red ‘Dragon Made’ cloth bag.

Series 2 dragon minis depict some of our favorite characters from the game such as Hot Dog, Starburst and Thistle!
Each of our fiery friends has incredible detail, with their own bespoke props, such as a fresh baked loaf, a special Flamecraft gem and a spade with a tiny snail friend!
LET'S TOAST TO JUMBO FLAMECRAFT GOODS!
Ever since Manny Vega designed the tiny toast, meats, potions and other charming goods of Flamecraft - the wooden sets of resources have been the most sought after of all deluxe items! Cardboard Alchemy is celebrating with a special JUMBO set of goods! We've paired up with Game Trayz for some brand new colors of X-Trayz to match! This set is designed to fit in the standard box for newcomers to Flamecraft. The jumbo toast is too much for the Deluxe box (until someday when we make a bigger box too?). But we still love these out on our game table - maybe every game needs some potions!
Lucky Duck Games now carries the original wooden set of resources in their online shops so that everyone can have the tiny toasts!

Hi all,
2022 was a very special year for us and for dragons, and we hope for you as well! As a New Year begins, new chapters of Flamecraft are ahead of us! In this update - a recap, some final shipping/replacement info, dragons on new adventures and more!
DICE TOWER ARTISANS!
Next week - the Dice Tower goes live with their annual Kickstarter! We partnered with Sandara and Lucky Duck Games to get them a special set of 6 artisan dragons! Oooh, who at the Dice Tower will get a dragon card? Find out when they go live and help us support this hardworking crew of artisans and their coverage of board games!
Thinking back to this exact time last year - Jan 2022, Flamecraft was just a twinkle in the eye of manufacturing dragons. Nothing had been produced. Sandara had finished art in November 2021, and box and rules were done by December 2021. As the new year started, we were on resin/wax versions of the minis, about 5 iterations into the process...
Sample heart tokens would appropriately come in February, followed by cute meeples and resources in March. The translations were mostly done. The artbook - barely started, would edit for the next two months and finish in April with our last language to approve. Mass production took place in June and games were on boats by July!
Who remembers the great plush migration of 2022?
The community made this game happen in a year from launch in 2021. Now we're 99.93% delivered! Almost 100% - remaining copies include some stuck packages in the Americas that we cannot wait to find their home, a few locations in Africa/Asia where games have finally reached their hubs, and of course a few backers still to do their survey. ITALIAN MISPRINTS
As fancy dragons have played on tabletops around the world, perhaps they have been too playful with the exact wording on every dragon card and shop. Italian fans noticed 3 misprinted cards. Lucky Duck Games has decided to reprint these cards and send these to backers of the Italian editions. They write:
“At Lucky Duck we consider high quality standards one of our main goals. We want to thank you all for the love you have for our Dragons and we apologize for a small inconvenience we had on our Flamecraft Italian Edition. We checked carefully all the Italian materials and unfortunately we have noted 3 mistakes on 3 different cards: 1 shop: Vicolo del Drago (Dragon Alley) and 2 Fancy dragons: Camelia (Dazzle) and Lucciconio (Twinkle). On BGG in January, we will post the corrected texts.
As we want to give you the best edition of Flamecraft we are now printing a replacement set of cards that we will send free to all affectedbackers. We are planning to receive the replacement kit in March. Cardboard Alchemy will send us a list of all backers and you do not need to do anything to receive your replacement set. Now where are the dragons going after they travel to the Dice Tower? There's nowhere in the galaxy these cute artisans can't go! We're launching Andromeda's Edge in just a couple weeks (Jan 31) and the Discord community has been politely chanting about dragons in space! Right? Sandara lent her talents as a guest artist to provide 2 different but amazing illustrations as PLAYABLEFACTIONS! Each one is a special promo of dragons!

Should you back Andromeda's Edge? You don't have to back Andromeda's Edge to get the new shop as a promo at some point. That said, you may still be interested in this exciting worker placement and engine building game from a dynamic duo of designers - Luke and Maximus Laurie. It's about deep space, and it's a bit deeper gameplay than Flamecraft, but many of our backers are no doubt ready for this game. It is accessible and familiar in a lot of ways, and we'll have some videos coming up on youTube to explain more about the gameplay.
BONUS ITEMS - BOOKS, PINK DRAGONS AND MORE?
We're still fulfilling the campaign so we've delayed any Cardboard Alchemy store until at least Spring when we can assess what we have and in what locations. The good news is we do think we'll have a limited supply of pink dragons and some merch items. As we're not likely to post here much more until the next Kickstarter, the best way to stay in the loop and hear about this dragon merch is via our newsletter, Flamecraft Facebook group or the Cardboard Alchemy Discord.

Flamecraft is 92% fulfilled now, and we're looking forward to the final push to get everyone their dragons completely! That means this update is mostly for the flamekeepers still waiting, but we'll mix in some of the latest news for all dragon lovers - thank you all!
Here's is a picture of one of our latest orders - to one of our biggest fans and a group in México. Mostly made it, just a couple of things to fix up. Thanks to Áxel for sharing, and to everyone sharing pictures in our Flamecraft Facebook group and Discord. As you can see, the final stretch of Flamecraft fulfillment is about customized packages!

For additional numbers, we've fulfilled 425 replacement requests for various components and we have another 158 in the queue right now. Plus the Chinese deck replacements going out (116 sets), and that puts us at 699 replacement tickets so far, or 2% of our total. Of course, we wish for every copy perfect on arrival, but overall this seems good for this big a production!

Math continued! Just how many dragons are IN Flamecraft? Sandara's son decided to find out! His mission? Count every possible dragon on every surface of the box and game! After a count (and a recount with Mom), here's the results:

Ooh,but how big is town? In our Discord, we were chatting on how many shop combos there are, given a setup with 10 selected shops per Setup on page 4 (including your 2 promo cards). How many shop decks can you make? Thanks to some quick math by DarkAviator on our Discord (thank you!) - it is approximately 360,000 game combinations. This is a big, endless town of dragons!
Flamecraft at BGG.CON!
Flamecraft is in the Hot Games Roomat BGG.CON in Dallas Forth Worth, Texas next week! This is an honor and a first for us, and apparently all of the 5 library copies (Standard Edition) are reserved for early check out! Cardboard Alchemy won't be there this year, but we hope someone will take fun pictures!

Manny and Cardboard Alchemy at PAX UNPLUGGED!
We're headed to Philly in the first weekend of December (Dec 2-4) to join Lucky Duck Games at their booth (currently planned for booth#3455). You can meet the designer, Manny Vega at the booth! Be sure to tell him your favorite pun!
We'll be bringing 4 limited items to PAXU - a select amount of artisan dragon pins, bread and dragon plush and art books. We're only bringing an amount we're sure we have over fulfillment, so if you wanted a bonus gift item from these, do come early to the booth.

Dragon Queues and Shipping News - A Flamecraft Fulfillment Update

Hello Flamekeepers!
We're still in the middle of a giant 'shipping' turn. Understandably, some of you wonder when it will be time to enchant the town. We're seeing the end of shipping in Europe, new regions in Asia receiving games and a major push to ship everything in the Americas. Here's the latest:
Sandara made this image for the art book, and then added a bit of color today to share it again with all of you, reminding us of the charm of this world. It also strikes us that if there were 17,000 more witches in line at this very shop (like there were packages in Americas), it might be a long line for a cup of magical brew! Other shops might even spring up trying to deliver coffee first, but please know - this is still the best cup of joe around town. The potion dragon is working overtime! It will be worth the wait, we promise.
Ok, but how many are still in line? Let's sum up the worldwide situation:
DRAGONS OF EUROPE
ABOUT 99%SENT: Essentially - DONE** and working now on replacement requests. **Spiral Galaxy does have under 150 orders missing some inventory, lost in freight. Replacements are quickly coming in from other hubs, and we have sent an email to those backers affected.

DRAGONS OF THE AMERICAS
AIMINGFOR 100% SENT IN OCTOBERIF POSSIBLE: Our fulfillment partner Greater Than Games has recently increased their efforts and boosted staffing to meet the demands of this and other campaigns using their services. GTG has assured us that we are the full priority of their entire team, and they are working every day of the week to ship this out asap. While we may see some packages go into November for this big job, they are still pushing hard to get every package shipped by Oct 31. (This includes all packages to United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Peru, Chile, and Colombia). We will continue to update further as we know more.
No email, no word?: We have sent an email just now to everyone who is does not yet have a label/tracking (please note that this may overlap some of you getting tracking TODAY) to give notice to everyone that is waiting with no word. We hope this confirmation will help set minds at ease and that very soon this email is followed by shipping confirmation.
Got tracking, but then no movement?: We have been following up on cases like these with Greater Than Games and it appears that a glitch with our free items caused some packages to get stuck in the shipping software. GTG is now aware of these and is moving quickly to get all labels moving to final destinations!

14COUNTRIES DELIVERED: Packages are now arriving in the Philippines! VFI has sent all packages, although length of time can vary to all shipping regions. Here's an updated look at where we stand:
Brunei, China, Cyprus,Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Macao, Malaysia, Philippines,Qatar,Singapore, Taiwan,Thailand,Viet Nam - these packages should be delivering now or fully delivered!
Indonesia - estimated soon, checking with VFI for further details.
India, Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates,South Africa - arriving in hubs from late October to late November, various timelines.
Brazil dragons! Our partner in Brazil, Galápagos is saying that the freight is expected in late November which means that copies would likely be delivering in December. We'll continue to check this status with them, and will follow up when we have more information.
Replacement parts: are now being handled in this region. Corrected Chinese decks are almost done in production, and we'll email backers about these as soon as they are finished.
DRAGONS IN TOWN
We know that with the extra long fulfillment time (not planned!), the dragons have arrived sooner in stores than our backer copies, and with an uncomfortable and unacceptable gap between these final destinations. We are extremely sorry about this. To be clear, Flamecraft was destined to be in local game stores with your help and our strong partnership with Lucky Duck Games and dozens of other partners worldwide. More families get to experience the world that Sandara created and we are excited by this. In addition, as we posted on the page at launch, we chose to do something unique and allow a limited print run of Deluxe copies into full distribution (because dragon minis and tiny toast and metal coins are too good to hoard!) While most campaigns do allow KS editions to go to retailers that back directly, our plan to allow Deluxe editions to go widespread for a limited time, while keeping certain items exclusive, has caused much confusion. It has allowed some retailers to chop prices beyond what we thought ever possible, while other retailers are promising items they don't have.
We want everyone to know that we care very deeply about the crowdfunding community that brings projects to life (especially one like this with enough bonus goodies apparently to overwhelm warehouses globally). We are thankful for you, we appreciate this community very much, and we will endeavor to strengthen our promises to you and improve our offers going forward. We will take steps with our fulfillment and retail partners to correct issues that occurred on Flamecraft, and continue to offer special reasons to back our campaigns. We sincerely believe in this game we all crafted together and we know you will enjoy the dragons that Sandara, Manny, and we Cardboard Alchemy, are sending to your home!
