Latest Updates from Our Project:

Mamma Che Zucca! Oh My, a Flamecraft Update!
about 4 years ago – Sun, Feb 13, 2022 at 03:03:09 AM

Hello Flamekeepers! Bonjour! ¿Qué tal? We have an exciting update for you in February!

To our German backers, there is an important note in this update about the timeline of the German edition. Please take note to read about translations below.

WARNING: AWESOMENESS AHEAD!

There will be pictures in this update that make it seem like we're done. We're not, we're just ahead of the game with samples. And it is exciting, and we're squealing over every heart and dragon meeple. We're trying not to freak out, as the game takes adorable shape. So before we share some amazing behind-the-scenes production pictures and news with you, keep in mind: a) that pre-production is not final, and there's many pieces that can still change b) it takes a loooooong time to make and ship games - we'll have better idea of schedule in a future update and c) we will keep a few surprises for when you open your copy. :) That all said, let's peek at few things!

From the depths of space, two boxes magically arrived to our tabletops recently:

So these fun pics show off our first game Mission Catastrophe (a final mass production sample) and the first ever pre-production sample of the Flamecraft English box!! As these are the very first two games for Cardboard Alchemy, we had to capture the pair together on the table. Note - if you added Mission Catastrophe in the pledge manager, these copies are about to arrive and ship!

We also noticed that fire and flame seem to be a theme here. Manny immediately dubbed this a "meat-eor" pic:

Meat dragon impact in 5... 4... 3... 2...

MINI DRAGONS?

Whoops, that last image was a spoiler. Yep - we ALSO got the latest batch of minis - now in color! You'll recall from our last update that now this is the 6th stage in production of minis, with many more to go. The minis have the longest production time of any piece here, and it was critical that a set get done before Chinese New Year to keep as closely to schedule as possible. They arrived and we celebrated them while Eastar took a break. The mini dragons look amazing!

unwrapping all the minis was like receiving a bunch of belated Christmas presents!

We were sent swatches early for various pantone colors we picked, and this is actually the second color pass for meat, iron and fancy dragons, and it won't be the last pass for our dear friend the bread dragon. We want to keep pushing the 'mustard' in this color so that it matches up well to the tokens and bread pieces. Overall, we love the set together and think we're in good shape to keep pushing!

You'll notice a couple of tray sneak peeks above - both cardboard dividers (standard edition) and gametrayz (deluxe). The cardboard tray has 3 divided wells to make it easy to sort pieces rather than have everything dumped together in one spot (we hate that). The mat has its own spot. It also accommodates any deluxe bits you may have acquired. And Sandara made it cuter than your average cardboard insert. ❤️

As for the gametrayz, you may notice as we share pics that some are black and some are "white". The white is us spray painting one to give a better sense of what the final tray will be, but some other pics may still show black (which is the color that the sample machines use). Just keep that in mind - all the trayz will be white, regardless of what these temp/hacked photos are up to. You may see both black and off-white used throughout remaining updates until we have a shiny white tray.

It's easy to get excited about the little things, you know? This video below is just one example of how Gametrayz thought about each piece of the puzzle. Note the hearts are stored below the dragons in their own spot too!

We could go on and on. And we will for a bit longer. :)

"DRAGON FIRE MAGIC TOWN" AND OTHER TRANSLATIONS

It's quite a feat to get files to the printer, and for Flamecraft of course, this didn't happen just one time, it happened over a dozen times at once, as other publishing partners translated all of the dragons and shops, player aids, rulebook and more. As you know, we've partnered with Lucky Duck, so as early as November of last year, we began sending things like dragon name and shop names and discussing how each studio would handle this game. We worked hard to get partners every single file by the start of December and then aggressively asked for these back in January if possible, to look before Chinese New Year and give this Kickstarter the best chance to fulfill to all backers as early as possible. This meant many many hours of back and forth work, and there was no time to lose. We checked files at all hours, and helped all the partners figure out game powers and get it just right on cards and rules. In some cases, some good questions adjusted our English book too.

Getting several versions of the game ready requires a little bit of magic and a little bit of science!

At Lucky Duck, our new friend Mateusz Szupik in their Poland office became our lifeline - daily coordination with every single international team. Just amazing. (Thank you Mateusz!) We're happy to report that most of the languages were able to turn in January, some are probably not used to this speed (sorry! Dragons do not wait!). We did really well here on the translation front. There is still one country to go. Our German translation team at Asmodee said they need more time. Nothing to worry about - we are not sure yet if they will be on the same boat or 'catch the next one' when we ship out, but we are nevertheless manufacturing all the dragons, mats and other pieces to minimize the need to catch up.  We'll keep all our German language backers posted as this should be decided by April, and we'll have a timeline for everyone.

It was quite fun for us to see the translations for a number of reasons, and we want to share with you what some parts of what we saw in the process. Normally, this is not a step that the English team is a part of so directly, and secondly, we got to see how each country chose to translate the logo (or not), and handle dragon names and our punny shop names.

BOXES AND CARDS AROUND THE WORLD

First, how did the game name and logo change? Well, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Spanish and French kept the name "Flamecraft" as is on the box, while the rest changed it or added to it. Here's a collection of a few of these. We're still pinching ourselves that the game will be distributed around the world!

Next, we followed up on our dragon friends. Did they keep the same names? We didn't expect so, certainly with some languages using different characters, so it was fun when some did keep the exact same name. We did notice at first that a few of the fancy dragons stayed consistent across all translations. Curiously - Talisman, Umami and Bubu for example were kept in 6! other editions other than English. What is it about these words?

On the artisan side, how many kept the exact name characters? Winning this round was Patina - which shall appear just so in 5 other game boxes. Close behind, we have Fondue, Pan, Lotus and Hot Dog! (that surprised us) in 3 other editions of Flamecraft. Appearing in a couple of games the same way, Cookie, Suzette, Earl, Rusty, Flint, Olive and Roxanne are in at least 1 other edition. To the potion and crystal dragons - you are truly one of a kind it seems!

Here's a look at how Pan has been welcomed into town across the globe:

As for shops, that was a fun discovery as well. As it turns out, all of our partners decided to translate the shop names with their team, rather than leave the English names. There are a few surprises where the name matched up. Of course, 'La Petite Dragonne' stayed the same in a lot of versions, especially er.. French.

We gave partners as much info as we could about the name - explaining the shop power, and the shop theme and the pun as much as possible to help. We hope that each version is a charming match between Sandara's art and shop titles. We can't quite make out all of them, but they do seem fun!

BE BACK SOON!

There's still so much to tell you about, but we best wrap it up for now, and keep more updates coming! Flamecraft is really coming along well! Future posts will have more components to share and talk too about gameplay - sharing the rulebook and discussing more on solo play. Plus we have merch to chat about - the art book is making excellent progress, the pin samples are up next and the plush and y-trayz are about to start manufacturing!

Cheers,

Peter, Brad and the Flamecraft team!

The start of 2022 and a dragon update for you! Important Jan 15 deadline and Flamecraft pre-production progress!
over 4 years ago – Sun, Jan 02, 2022 at 12:28:47 AM

A toast! To great memories and fun in 2021, and even more to do and see in 2022!

It's the year of the dragon! (wait, no... it's the year of the Water Tiger... so not fire and not dragons, lol). But we're here to see about that! We're working so hard to get as much done as we can before the Chinese New Year begins on February 4, and we're happy to report that this plan is working! There's so much to update on all fronts, but as we're busy still getting files to the printer, this is just a short and sweet update for now.

FINAL FINAL PLEDGES!

January 15th is our next milestone date. The Backerkit surveys (aka pledge manager) are at 92% complete, and post-Kickstarter, 1000 more pledgers joined us in town (welcome!). Thank you all! As exciting as it is to hold the door for more, we do need to place our orders for production, so we're wrapping up all $1 pledge upgrades and late pledges on January 15th. After this point, we'll still allow backers with game tiers to finish their pledge (language options and add-ons may be limited), but Flamecraft backerkit will be locked up. **except for address changes - see below.

A couple key points for January 15th:

  •  COMPLIMENTARY ITEMS: As a reminder, in the Backerkit pledge manager/survey you won't see everything in your pledge that is included, but every single game pledge bought via this Kickstarter (shopkeeper or Flamekeeper tier) comes with promo cards (translated), alternate starter shops (language independent), mini art prints (15), bookmark set (7), sticker sheets and a glittery, fancy dragon enamel pin! The pin is the only item that shows in the cart, and it won't increase per game (just a placeholder, adjusted at the end). Also, you may have a set of 2 coasters or a fancy dragon miniature and player pieces if you participated in our promotions during Kickstarter. (These are add-ons now too). After mid January, the promo cards will be available via the Dice Tower Kickstarter, but everything else is limited!
  •  FANCY DRAGON MINI/PIECES? If you didn't do the puzzles during KS, you do have to add and pay for a Fancy dragon mini if you want it. (includes pink dragon and heart) This is not a needed item, but it is adorable. It won't be made again, it won't be in retail. This may make you wonder, "wait, do I have one??" - we understand. You probably do but if you want to be sure, you can get to your survey here: https://flamecraft.backerkit.com/ and check. You can check the confirmation page to see the free mini or your added-on fancy dragon miniature if purchased.
  •  MOAR FLAMECRAFT MERCH? Could you still get artisan enamel pins, plush dragons, an art of book, extra bookmarks or stickers, coasters, y-trayz, etc? Yes, this is the final stage to add these items. The ease of this depends on if you backed originally and paid via paypal (can just add more) vs late pledge or credit card charged already - these are a bit more manual on our end, but we are willing to add whatever you want one last time! Let us know how we can help you get all the things: [email protected]
  •  REFUND ON ITEMS: After January 15th, we will put a hold on any changes to carts, including refunds, while we enter production of Flamecraft. We do still have the money back guarantee on board games, so everyone is covered!
  •  ADDRESS CHANGES? Yes you can still modify this all the way up until we ship the game later this year. We'll have plenty of notice when we lock addresses, so not to worry if you don't know for sure any new address yet. If you want to change your address, you can access your survey/pledge manger here: https://flamecraft.backerkit.com/
  •  STILL HAVE QUESTIONS? You can send us a Kickstarter message or an email: [email protected]
Dragons are getting all dressed up and ready for the next big moment in town! Sew cute!

SAMPLES ARRIVING!

This is a particularly fun time for us, as we're getting weekly packages in the mail of product samples from our manufacturing partner. We are thrilled to be working with Ningbo Eastar Manufacturing on this project. Their team has been involved in many large scale board game projects, and we are impressed by their attention to detail and their dedication to send us so many samples at an early stage. In our next big update, we'll go into these more, but for now just wanted to let you know that progress is happening rapidly. We are looking at color and materials, (thickness of cards, material of bag to hold coins) and moving forward and making edits on all the non-print materials, focusing most on the items needing the longest production times (such as plastic, metal and wood). Here are two examples from the latest samples, and we'll be back in a future update with even more peeks into production.

Example 1 - Miniatures

The very first miniatures arrived, and these are actually the 5th iteration of our characters (the process started with our digital files, then two editions of new digital files at Eastar, then pictures of red wax models (not in hand because they were still unglued) and then a PU resin step where the the first grey models could be shipped to us and compared to our prototype resin models. One example of approval notes we have at this stage - we found the Bread Dragon was leaning a bit in the red wax sample. (This stage also has parts not glued, so it was hard to tell without physical samples in hand. But Eastar confirmed this and addressed it for the next version).

Miniatures require many months of iteration, including a red wax sample without all parts attached
this bread dragon is now upright and ready for the next stage of production!

Example 2 - metal coins

The metal coin digital files were finished up in late November and sent to Eastar, and then recently we received the first sample of these coins! Not to jinx it, but these look amazing and we think possibly they nailed it on round one. That said - they are still sending us some alternate gold effects. These coins were darkened a bit to prevent them feeling too 'new'. The second samples will show us if a newer coin would look even better. All we know is - 3mm thick coins were the way to go, these feel wonderful to rifle in a stack, and the commemorative coin (unlocked on Kickstarter!) feels very special in the mix.

Deluxe games come with this hoard of coins!
The commemorative Flamekeeper coin is perfect for flipping!
Early coin sample, meat dragon miniature sample and mat sample (all not final)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We'll wrap it up for now - after all, there are files to finish this weekend and we have much to do so we can show you even more (the art book is coming along too)! We will be back in future updates with a status on all the parts of production (a general timeline for each piece of the puzzle), as well as detailed looks at the translation efforts, the final rulebook and much, much more.

Thank you all for making this possible, and we're excited to share more about the journey to make the game. Remember, if you want to chat with us regularly about the process, you're welcome to say hello not only here in the comments with any questions, but you can always join us for all things Flamecraft on the Facebook fan page and the Cardboard Alchemy Discord

Cheers,

Peter, Brad and the Flamecraft team - including Tannin, our starter potion dragon who is starting off the new year with a tasty brew. Here's to you!

Finishing up Gathering so we can Enchant! FLAMECRAFT UPDATE!
over 4 years ago – Wed, Nov 24, 2021 at 04:04:09 AM

Hello Flamekeepers! The surveys are finishing, but the magic of Flamecraft is just getting started! Here's the latest news!

Hopefully this doesn't come as a surprise!

Surveys close - round 1 complete!

As mentioned previously, surveys are due on Nov 24, and we are charging cards at the end of the day, Nov 24, PST. Thank you to almost 27,000 people who have finished this step - this helps us place orders on games and all the other Flamecraft items.

IMPORTANT NOTE, GROUPS: If you're backing as a group and have not confirmed details with us, please contact us at [email protected] to be sure your cart is correct before we charge.

Commonly asked questions!

  •  Q: I finished my survey after Nov 24. How will I be charged? A: We will charge cards again approximately every 15th of each month, to handle these. Please note: the option to PayPal will close in the next cycle, on Dec 15.
  •  Q: My card charge had an error. What happens now? A: You can still pay and get the game. Please edit the card on file and we will attempt to charge cards again on Dec 15.
  •  Q: Can I still finish my survey? A: Yes, while supplies last. If you pledged and paid for a game tier on KS, to be clear, we are holding a copy for you. There may be limited availability on some items as we now need to lock in our orders, but everyone who backed on Kickstarter can still finish the survey.
  •  Q: Whoa, I didn't even GET a survey?! A: This can happen due to apple ID emails and spam folders also love dragons. If you are missing a survey, let us know and we'll send a new one. You can still fill out the survey by our next deadline.
  •  Q: Can I edit my order if my card has been charged on Nov 24? A: This depends on a few factors, and is generally some manual work on our part to add and charge again, but is possible. Paypal users should be able to add more and charge again. That all said, if you have a locked cart that absolutely needs some moar dragons in it, please email us: [email protected]
  •  Q: I think I'm missing the free fancy dragon and pin? A: The fancy dragon is free if you solved any puzzle during the campaign. These are in carts now, along with free fancy pins! The complimentary items can be hard to spot (under the game pledge top right on add-on screen and on confirmation screen on left). If you didn't do the KS puzzles, the fancy dragon is not automatically included with the game, you have to add one. If you did the puzzles and think your dragon is missing, email us: [email protected]
  •  Q: Can I change my address? A: Yes, this part is not locked, and is editable all the way until we ship games and notify everyone that addresses are locking. Please edit your address at any time. Here's a link to backerkit to do this: https://flamecraft.backerkit.com/

Surveys - last call!

As mentioned above, we're now looking to complete the remaining surveys. If you have not received your survey or have not finished - you can still do this and get a game. You can also get some of the other Flamecraft goodies while supplies last! Cards will be charged again on the 15th of Dec. Also, late pledges will also be open during this time as a final final call for to any friends that missed and want the Kickstarter exclusives. Tell your dragon loving pals to click on the late pledge button on the KS main page to join us in dragon town!

Art and design update

Sandara has magical powers! We're not sure if you were aware, but we thought we should just state that. How else could she have finished all the major art pieces of this game already?? She has though, she's illustrated every dragon, brought life to every shop in town, revised box covers, drawn doodles for the rulebook, and illustrated the new game mat in full - among many other things. While she finishes the last few touches, we are thankful for her wonderful work and magical touch in every part of this game.

Glass blowing is magical. AND so is illustrating it!

Game development is also coming to an exciting close! We have gotten dozens and dozens of active community members - all ages - on Discord to try various shop setups and solo mode, and we're happy to report that players are finding the game addictive and very fun! A huge thank you to all of the play testers, but also specifically to these individuals who took time to host games at all hours of the day for all regions of the world to jump in - cheers to you Áxel Cisneros, Mike Vander Veen and Steven Cox!

Manufacturing update

While we wrap on art and design, we've been busy with the manufacturing teams to begin on the items taking long lead times. For one, we've finished the Gametrayz final design for the Deluxe edition, and the plant is already working on this. The mat is nicely rolled up on the side, the shops display art right when you open the box, and the fancy dragon has a home if you've picked up this bonus dragon! The box fits sleeved mini cards (so your companions, fancy dragons, artisan dragons and enchantments).

Mini dragons are off to a great start! After picking pantone colors, we have sent the files to the plant and gotten the slight tweaks to get the models to work best for manufacturing. The wings were beefed up a bit too to prevent easy breakage (this was a weak spot admittedly on the resin samples we made). Overall, we were able to keep the same adorable poses and we feel that first samples will be coming soon! More elements are going into production as well - we've finished the vector designs of the artisan pins, and the plush are also through with their iterations and are quite an adorable pair. More pics and progress to come!

Translation and language update

Flamecraft is now signed in 19+ languages! This continues to amaze us, and we're so proud to offer the game worldwide. For anyone who now sees a preferred language - keep in mind that not all of these were available via the Kickstarter and pledge manager, and in some other cases, the Kickstarter is the only way to get the Deluxe edition, even if the standard edition has a translation. In the end though, Flamecraft will get 19 (or more!) translations. Final deals are still being finished across the globe, but we have been in contact with all of the game's language partners, and have also already begun getting them files and text. Here are a list of confirmed publishers in each of the regions! We are working hard to make as many of these editions as possible ship at the same time!

Giving Thanks!

The plant dragons are ready for the season of giving, and the chef dragons are also pumped up as we head into the Thanksgiving holiday here in the United States. All of the dragons in town want to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday, and/or weekend - play games! We are extremely thankful for this game, for this community, and for the outpouring of love for this project. With your help, we have been given a wonderful gift and are excited to be making this great game for everyone. With all our love!

Peter, Brad and the Flamecraft team!

Brightgem is looking forward to a bright 2022 indeed!

21,500 surveys and a tattoo! Plus KEY INFO re: Fancy Dragons
over 4 years ago – Tue, Oct 26, 2021 at 05:25:12 AM

Hi all! We have a very brief update with some key info about fancy dragons and more!

Today, we reached 21,500 surveys completed - about 73%! This is amazing progress in just a couple days. Thank you all for a fiery start!

IMPORTANT SURVEY INFORMATION - FANCY DRAGONS

We don't want anyone to miss out on the Fancy Dragon mini (and included dragon meeple/heart pieces) - these are a Kickstarter exclusive, not offered to retail, and it's the only game pieces not in the game box automatically. It does not come with the Deluxe edition - the fancy dragon is sold separately (or gained by puzzles).  We will not be manufacturing more of these and won't have much surplus stock, so please make sure you have it, if interested.

HOW TO GET A FANCY DRAGON: If you did any puzzle correctly, you have one in your cart. The puzzle promotion is now closed, but everyone can STILL GET a fancy dragon for $5! It is not included in a game - you have to add it in Backerkit. Keep in mind, these pieces - the 7th dragon color - is optional and not needed for gameplay -  but we know many people may miss it, as it is a fun, rare exclusive item from this Kickstarter.

QUESTIONS ON YOUR SURVEY?

ONE MORE Pledge manager  Live Q&A stream in a few hours - a bit late in North America (11:59pm PST) but better in a few other places ( 7am GMT / 4pm JST/ 5pm AEST, etc) . Check it out HERE or you can look at the Cardboard Alchemy YouTube channel for past Q&A streams.

If we miss anything - the main KS wall or Discord are great places to check (thank you to our helpful community!) but you may feel free to comment here for quick questions or email us anytime at [email protected].

DRAGON MADE!

A DRAGON TATTOO? In all the excitement of the pledge manager opening, we forgot to share this super cool photo we received along with news of the first ever? Flamecraft tattoo! A big hearty dragon salute to Rebecca A Bevan, who is the first honorary member of dragon town for life! Rebecca asked Sandara about doing this and then shared the the searing hot results:

Dragon-approved! Awesome stuff Rebecca - you are a trend-setter!

Who is next? Rumor has it one Manny Vega, designer of Flamecraft, is considering one...

FUN FACTS!

Here are just a few fun facts as we look ahead to the weeks finishing up the survey!

PLUSH POWER! Bread dragons just reached 4,500 ordered! Wow, we are ready to cuddle these cuties. This is about 3:2 to meat dragons, so the chefs have some catching up to do!  Both plush are well loved in Backerkit! Tell us what you are naming yours!

PUZZLE SOLVERS! When we totaled all the puzzle submissions, we found it was 52,333 entries!! for our 7 puzzles. Those entries were from 14,179 unique players. This is amazing to see, and we feel lucky to have all of your support for our pre-launch and during campaign fun activities. Thanks for playing! What was your favorite puzzle? If you didn't jump in - you can still try the puzzles on Discord for fun, and of course - per the above note, you can still get a Fancy Dragon for your game - don't miss this one!

DO YOU SPEAK FLAMECRAFT? In the choice of languages, there was at one point a 3-way tie between French, German and Japanese for second-most ordered other than English. Currently, these 3 languages now account for over 2,800 copies ordered! It is exciting to see all the languages get orders as this game goes worldwide. Lucky Duck Games is even getting new language requests for the retail version. We will share all the company partners logos involved in a coming update!

Cheers from Peter, Brad and the Flamecraft team... including Hickory, our starter meat dragon!

When presented with plush, bookmarks, pins or art books, Hickory chose... fish.

Up, Up and Away! Flamecraft Pledge Manager and More!
over 4 years ago – Sat, Oct 16, 2021 at 03:43:08 AM

Hello Flamekeepers!

There's so much to talk about! In this update, the much anticipated PLEDGE MANAGER arrives along with key details, and the latest news on game decisions as we head into pre-production stages.

Q&A LIVE STREAMS with CARDBOARD ALCHEMY

We know some people will be navigating the pledge manager for the first time. We're happy to help answer anything about the survey or the project! We've decided to schedule Q&A live streams at various times in the next week to help explain anything. Here are a few sessions we have planned (all times noted in PST):

If you miss one of our scheduled live streams, we'll have these hosted on youtube.

Additional help can be found on our Discord - your fellow backers in our Discord community tell me they are happy to answer questions too! Check out the pledge manager channel under Flamecraft section.

THEY MEET!

We love it when a plan comes together. The meat dragon has arrived, and we're ready to begin manufacturing soon, but first let's find out how many of these beauties we should make...

THE PLEDGE MANAGER IS HERE

We're going to open the pledge manager this weekend, and open late pledges also. YAY! With over 29,000 of you, our partner Backerkit has suggested we roll this out in batches of several thousand over the next week, so you may not see your survey right away. Never fear, it is coming to everyone! Some people have expressed concern about the "limited" nature of some items, but be assured no Flamecraft items are limited yet - now is the period where we determine the order size, so everyone can get all the stuff! There are limits on our former campaign coasters, and Mission Catastrophe games, but we hope there's still enough for anyone interested.

SHIPPING: For the most part, we were able to hold the rates estimated in our campaign page. There are a couple countries that had a very minor increase in standard or deluxe shipping amounts, but we're very glad we can keep the rates at these levels given the complex worldwide climate regarding shipping.

Let's make some noise! The Pledge manager is opening up shop!

PLEDGE WINDOW, CHARGE DATES

PLEDGES OPEN: October 16 Until Nov 24. You are not charged** (except Paypal, see below) until we lock orders. So you have over a month to decide. Please fill out the survey during this time so we can get the party started manufacturing with a good idea of order size.

WHEN YOU ARE CHARGED: This depends if you choose Paypal or not. If you choose Paypal, you are charged immediately upon checkout. You can order more items, each time getting charged. If you choose to finish the survey and do not click Paypal - you will pay by credit card (via Stripe) at a later time. This latter case is not charged yet because it is harder add/adjust, so we'll be waiting to charge all cards end of day, November 24 PST.

ADDRESS CHANGES: You can change your address from now until alllllllll the way into 2022, when we ship, so even if your order is locked, this part is still editable.

THE CURIOUS CASE OF $1 PLEDGES

YOU NEED TO SWITCH LEVELS TO EITHER GET A GAME OR CLOSE OUT

This section is just for our Townsfolk/No Reward levels! With so many pledges, and many permutations of merchandise scenarios, we had to get a bit creative on the $1 level for pledges in order to keep shipping simple, game orders simple and to make sure that each game pledge includes the bonus goodies. So, if you're in the $1 please note the following:

TO GET A GAME: you MUST switch your pledge level to Shopkeeper or Flamekeeper. If you stay in the $1 level, you can get other merchandise, but not games. You cannot switch back to $1. Instructions are in the pledge manager in the opening screen and pledge questions on how to switch.

TO FINISH YOUR SURVEY: We added a minimum shipping to the $1 level for all those getting merchandise, but this does prevent someone from just clicking through to close their survey for no extra funds. If you desire to close out because you are not interested in more emails - we got you. There's a new pledge level "Thanks and Done!" - you can switch to this level to exit the hot air balloon. Thanks so much for your support of Flamecraft!

How many pieces of Flair is enough?

FLAIR, THE FANCY DRAGON PIN

When you open your backerkit survey, you should already all have a super cool, glittery Fancy Dragon pin, unlocked on this campaign! This includes all backers at $1 without a game pledge, although note this pin only comes if you're completing the survey and having items shipped. This can be just the pin, but there is a minimum shipping charge.

MOAR PINS? - A fancy dragon pin also comes with every game ordered!! but please note the cart will not reflect this total. The free pin is a placeholder, and the count will be adjusted for every game during fulfillment. You can also order more Fancy Dragon pins too! These dragons are a steal for a limited time!

We named the dragon, Flair - we hope you'll enjoy wearing your dragon to all the latest game conventions, fairs and more! Thank you for making this campaign full of flair!

ARTISAN DRAGON PINS

We promised in our last update that we would have artisan dragon pins to unlock if there was interest. There was a resounding - YES, PINS PLEASE!, so we've decided to just UNLOCK THEM NOW! Just like Flair, we are discounting these pins from the typical hard enamel pin prices, for this limited pledge manager offer. We hope those of you that want a set enjoy adding Honey, Cole, Skewert, Dandelion, Thistle and Opalwing to your collection!

COASTERS AND FANCY DRAGON MINIATURES OFFERS

SPECIAL OFFERS: If you unlocked the Fancy Dragon miniature or coasters in a special offer - puzzles, contests or other - we have already put this item in your cart! Like the pin, we decided to include all backers at $1 without a game pledge, but please note that these items require a completed survey and having items shipped. There is a minimum shipping charge for all non game items. This should cover everyone who participated in special promotions except anyone who used different emails to enter a contest than their Kickstarter email. If YOU believe you entered a promotion but don't have the item in your cart - please email us at [email protected], noting the email used to enter and your Kickstarter email and we'll check our lists!

FLAMECRAFT IN 15 LANGUAGES!

100% TRANSLATED: Some big to news to start - we have 15 languages to choose from in the Pledge Manager for each copy of the game ordered! And bigger news perhaps is that we will translate the promo cards (Spice Tower and Flamestarter Statue) to the language you choose per game. We are moving the Companion cards into every copy of the game, including retail, and we are omitting any language on the alternate Starter Shops. This means that the game is 100% fully translated. We are thrilled to be able to offer this level of language support.

PUBLISHER PARTNERS: Each translation will be handled by a game publisher in a country that is taking copies of the retail edition, so there will be a very professional level to the job done. In the coming updates, we will announce each publisher with their logo, and mention any notes they have given us about their plans in regards to the treatment of dragon and shop names, so you can know what to expect. Please keep in mind that some of these decisions may not be made until after the Pledge Manager closes, as translations will start when English is locked down.

TOWN MAT - A NEOPRENE MAT IN EVERY BOX!

That's right, the decision is officially made - we've reviewed dozens of cloth and neoprene mat options and selected a gorgeous mat option - complete with wonderful stitching (printed with the art design). Check out these pictures from just some of the samples we received:

As you know from the campaign, this was not an easy decision to make, as we were looking specifically for cloth or neoprene to match our exacting standards and these guidelines most of all:

  • wrinkle free experience
  • vivid color
  • high quality, stitched edges
  • fit in both standard/deluxe boxes
  • didn't weigh too much

We found it. We know we can make it now. (Note the town graphics here are still temp and not final art, and the color/mat quality is just samples. It will only get better!)

GROUP PLEDGES

Anyone is welcome to coordinate a group pledge still and save money on your shipping and receive our bonus 5% off your full order, plus all complimentary items that the group organizer gets are extended to the entire group (note: free fancy pins are still per game pledge). For those organizing a group pledge, we have a question in the backerkit to identify you - please be sure to mark this. We will reach out to you and ask you to confirm when you are done with your pledge so we can apply your discount. If you plan to use Paypal - don't charge it until you get your discount. :) If there are any group questions - please email us at [email protected]. Cheers!

DOES THIS GAME GO TO BRAZIL?

Yes. Yes it does! Do we know exactly how much it costs? Maybe...  Thank you to everyone who answered our mini survey to find dragon fans in Brazil. We have posted our best estimate of costs in the pledge manager. We will be working with our partner Galápagos on final costs, and if there is a significant increase for anyone's cart, we'll reach out to discuss it with you.
